Virtual Creative Groups

How do they work?

These groups meets via Zoom. We encourage creative expression about personally meaningful topics combined with wellness education and group sharing. Each month, a new topic and a project will be posted here. 


Group participants can work through the project prompts and create a visual or written response using any materials available at home. Project responses can range anywhere from painting, drawing, collage, digital art, photography, mixed media, poetry, or spoken word. There is no wrong way! 


  1. Register for the group (see available events below). 
  2. Make your project BEFORE the group. 
  3. Bring your project to the zoom session for sharing. 


All registered participants will get a Zoom link sent to their email 1 hour before the session starts. (Please check spam if you are registered and do not see the link)

These groups are free and open to mature teens and adults.

Building On The Blocks

They say the only thing constant is change.
Sometimes the universe forces sudden change with situations we did not expect. Other times, the need for change comes from within us.  Noticing the need for change happens slowly. We might notice we feel unhappy, anxious, lonely, or we need something that we’re just not getting. We start to notice this more. We think about how we feel and what we may want to be different. We may spend a lot of time thinking about this and imagining how things could be different. We might gather resources, start talking about our plans, and start getting more information about what we will need. Eventually, we act. We  experiment, try, fail, and try again. We learn to adjust. The process of change is just that- a process. In this session, we will focus on understanding the barriers and blocks we sometimes face when making changes and how to cope with them. 

For this task, reflect on a change you are trying to make in your life right now. It can be big or small. Write down the answer to these things: 1. Why do I want this change? 2. How will I benefit from making this change? 3. What blocks me or makes it difficult to achieve this change at times? 


Creative Task: Create an expression of your process of change. If it were a bridge or a road, what would it look like? What are the parts that feel difficult, shaky, scary, or frustrating? What parts feel smooth? What supports do you have along the way? You can create this as an image or any form of expression you choose. 



Registration

REGISTER BELOW for the group, bring your expression to the zoom meeting on April 25th! Look for the Zoom link in your email 1 hour before the group starts.
